October 2009 The schedule of practice developement sessions for network members has been recently updated. A list of training topics and dates for monthly meetings between November 2009 and May 2010 can be accessed through the 'DDNet - training' link at the top-left of this page, or by clicking here. September 2009 Click here to see the latest newsletter. A care pathways guide has been developed in consultation with numerous services in Leeds. This guide contains a brief directory of services that work with people with complex needs, and also proposes some decision rules and guidelines around: screening, referrals and care co-ordination. The care co-ordination protocol developed by partner organisations in Leeds during 2007 was revised in order to reflect recent changes in care pathways and service developments. This revised protocol is intended to be used alongside the new care pathways guide. Both documents can be downloaded via links at the top left of this web-page. April 2009 A schedule of up-coming practice development sessions in 2009 for DD Network members is now available here. BME Consultation: Staff from 4 services have collaborated in a consultation with BME communities in Leeds around mental health and alcohol & drug use. The report has been completed in April 2009 and describes how participants define and understand mental health, perceptions around substance use in their communities, and insights about the barriers and facilitators to accessing services. The report can be downloaded by clicking here. March 2009 The University of Leeds has produced an evaluation report based on 10 interviews with service users and also information obtained through staff questionnaires. The report describes the experiences of service users who have come into contact with mental health, substance use and criminal justice services in Leeds. It also describes the results of a staff survey exploring role adequacy, role support, role legitimacy, motivation, professional self-esteem and job satisfaction. October 2008 NHS Leeds has entrusted the University of Leeds with carrying out a local evaluation relating to barriers and facilitators to Dual Diagnosis care. Ethical approval has recently been granted and a lead researcher from the University has initiated contact with and recruitment of partner services for this piece of work. August 2008 New Journal: Advances in Dual Diagnosis. Members of the Leeds DD Network have access to this via mutli-user subscription. Enquiries: dual.diagnosis@st-annes.org.uk July 2008 The Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) has published a National Themed Review on Dual Diagnosis. The report gives an overall picture of how Dual Diagnosis Strategy and work is developing across the UK. It also highlights key areas for development and recommendations. May 2008 Dual  Diagnosis  Conference  held  at The Carriageworks, Leeds on 19th  May 2008.                  Guest speakers discussed national policy, local strategy, current progress  in  Leeds and  an  outline of future work  to  be done.                      April 2008 Web-site is launched. Second cohort of Lead Dual Diagnosis Practitioners                completed training course. Network members have access                to monthly practice development forum.  February 2008 Policy:  A Care Co-ordination Protocol has been developed   through consultation with service users and service providers between 2007 - 2008. To obtain a copy click here. Network: The second cohort of Lead Dual Diagnosis practitioners has commenced training in February. This will broaden the Network to nearly 30 practitioners across mental heath and drug & alcohol services in Leeds.
